Frequently Asked Questions — Lab Collection Services in Calgary

Do I need a requisition for lab testing?

Yes. A valid requisition form from your doctor or healthcare provider is required. Please bring it to your appointment along with your Alberta Health Care card and a valid ID.

Do I need to fast before my blood test?

It depends on the tests your physician requested. Common tests like fasting glucose and cholesterol typically require 8–12 hours of fasting. Your doctor will advise you — if unsure, contact us before your visit.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Your physician’s requisition form, a valid photo ID, and your Alberta Health Care card. Wearing loose-fitting clothing on your arms also helps during blood collection.

Is walk-in lab collection available?

Walk-in availability may be offered subject to clinic capacity. We recommend calling ahead to confirm before your visit.

How long do results take?

Turnaround times vary by test. Routine bloodwork is typically available within a few business days. Your physician will notify you of your results through their normal process.
